SOBRIETY STRIKES
Thanks to everyone for making our first (of many) annual Sobriety Strikes All-Campus Bowl-a-thon such a rousing success! Special thanks to Trustee Laura Smith for chairing the event, and to Trustee Diane Naas for so capably and willingly handling the registration table. And finally, congratulations and gratitude to everyone who participated.
It took a while to do the calculations, but finally they are completed.
Sobriety Strikes grossed $10,115 for the campuses and activities of Sobriety High Charter School. Wow! With expenses of less than $2,500, the net proceeds were fantastic.
Here are the results of the Trophy Contests:
The Campus Highest Participation Award went easily to Alliance Academy. With their black Sobriety Strikes T-shirts they were clearly the biggest group in attendance.
The Campus Activities Fund Award also went to Alliance Academy. The students, parents, staff and friends of Alliance Academy raised $2,462 for their campus. Outstanding!!
The Campus Team with the Highest Average Score was Team # 11, made up of Brett, Theresa and Tom, representing West Academy! Their average score was 124.9.
The Non-Campus Team with the Highest Average Score was Team #19, made up of Trustee Jack Meeks, his wife Annette, and their friends Tara and Corey. Their average score was 104.75.
The 2007 Sobriety High Bowl-a-thon was a grassroots fundraising and publicity event on behalf of the four Minnesota campuses of Sobriety High Charter School. 100% of the proceeds raised by each campus went directly to support the activities and extracurricular expenses of that campus.
Sobriety High Foundation and its generous supporters underwrote all the expenses of the event so that every dollar raised by the students, families, staff and friends of a campus would stay on that campus.
Sobriety High Foundation is pleased to state that we feel that every one of these goals were met.
Please join us in November 2008 for our next Sobriety Strikes event. Click here to be added to our email list so you can be invited.
